;
The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has threatened not to support the second term bid of President Muhammadu Buhari in the 2019 general election if the president does agree to the demands of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) and Colleges of Education Academic Staff Union (COEASU).

Azeez Adeyemi, the spokesman for the union issued the threat on Monday, November 19, at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) in Abeokuta, Ogun state, after a peaceful protest held over the reported failure of the federal government to attend to the demands of ASUU, Daily Trust reports.

He said Nigerian students will continue to carry out protests until the federal government implements the demands of the striking union. “Mr. President, NANS is giving you this for free that, come 2019, we are going to show you the road, through our votes, to Daura if after today’s nationwide protest, you still did not respect the voice of over 50 million Nigerian students.
