General Post-UTME Dates For 1st & 2nd Choice Candidates Released For All Schools

Heads
of institutions (Vice Chancellors, Rectors and Provosts) have come to an arrangement
of setting the dates of Post-UTME Screening for all institutions in Nigeria.

We
are pleased to notify the general public that the Vice Chancellors, Rectors of
all tertiary institutions have agreed to conduct Post-UTME for 1st Choice
Candidates between 2nd July to 16th October, 2018, while Post-UTME for 2nd
Choice Candidates will commence between 17th
October to 17th December.
If we are to interpret this information literally, it simply means that all
institutions will conduct two sets of Post-UTME Screenings. The first will be
for those who selected the institution as 1st choice, and later, they will
conduct for those who selected them as 2nd choice. No information was released
about 3rd or 4th Choice Selections.
We're
not certain how these institutions intend to manage these screenings, or
whether or not 1st choice candidates have more quota than 2nd choice
candidates.
We expect schools to be more transparent,
and give explicit information about their conduct of Post-UTME Screening for
this 2018/2019 session. They should be able to state whether or not they are
conducting a separate screening for those who selected them as 2nd choice or
not. This will help the candidates make better decisions on whether or not they
need to change their institutions.
